Home/About
Founded 2021 · North Hills, Los Angeles
SHRUFFLES INC started because buying beauty at wholesale was needlessly hard for small floors — high minimums, opaque terms, and reps who had never faced a counter in their lives. We built the opposite of that.
How we started
In 2021 we were doing what most of our customers do now — trying to keep a small beauty floor stocked without tying up cash in cases we could not sell. Minimums were written for chains. Terms were written for people with a purchasing department. Nobody would break a case.
So we became the distributor we had been looking for. We took a unit in North Hills, bought deep on the SKUs that actually turn, and set our minimum at a number a single-location retailer could realistically hit: $500 to open, $250 to reorder.
Four years on we pick and ship for more than 250 active accounts across 40 states — around 150 orders a month — and the principle has not changed. We buy what sells, we hold it here rather than promising it from a container, and we answer the phone when a buyer needs a restock before the weekend.
“A case of the wrong shade is not a bargain at any price. Our job is to make sure the pallet that leaves here is the one your customers will actually buy.”
What we hold to
They are unglamorous, and they are the reason accounts stay with us past the first reorder.
Every SKU on your line sheet marked in stock is physically on a shelf in North Hills. We would rather show you a shorter catalog than take an order we cannot fill this week.
Complexion lines are reviewed for full-range coverage before we commit. A foundation range that stops halfway down the shade card creates a customer you have to turn away at your own counter.
$500 to open and $250 to reorder, with mixed cases across several lines. You should be able to buy a broad, sellable assortment without a warehouse of your own.
The account manager who builds your opening assortment is the one who takes your reorder call. No ticket queue, no handoff, no re-explaining your store every time.
The North Hills warehouse
Our 6,000 square feet sit in North Hills in the San Fernando Valley, a short run from the 405 and the 118 — which is part of why Southern California accounts get their stock so quickly.
The people
Buying, account management and dispatch all sit in the same building. When you call, you get someone who can see the shelf.
